Transit Times

November 18th, 2008 by GScher GScher

In the fast paced society in which we live, everything seems to be done at a frenetic pace. Everyday we field requests from customers who need their tickets immediately. Since WWTC already has the fastest turn-around in the industry we are able to meet the majority of our customer’s requests by shipping ground. This is possible due to increased competition in the transportation industry, which has lead to quicker transit times. Small package giants UPS and Fed Ex have shaved a day off their transit time to various parts of the country. Additionally, LTL (less than truckload) carriers are able to deliver to most parts of the country in 3 business days. So, the next time you need your tickets in a hurry there is a good chance we can deliver them via ground and save you money.

Preparing Bids for Thermal Tickets

September 4th, 2008 by GScher GScher

When prospective customers submit requests for thermal ticket quotes, it is important the specs are accurate. For example, a bid may request thermal paper that is 7.6 mil thick. This is a common industry standard that was adopted during the infancy of thermal printing. At that time, there were limited paper manufacturers. As the industry grew, the number of paper suppliers increased, as did the choices available to printers. Today, thermal tickets are produced on papers ranging from 4.5 to 10 mil. As you might expect, the price varies, thus, leading to a wide range of quotes you could receive.

Another important factor in determining the price is the type of printer you own. Thermal printers are usually either 200 or 300 dpi(dots per inch). Paper manufacturers supply product for both applications. 300 dpi is more expensive and allows you to print with darker print resolution.

So, when requesting a bid remember there are a wide range of papers available that could affect the final price and it only helps to make sure your specs are in tune with what you are trying to accompolish.

Worldwide Ticketcraft is now offering green safety center thermal paper to our customers. The paper when ripped in half has a green layer that is very visual and difficult to duplicate. This feature is very popular in foreign countries where most venues lack barcode scanning equipment.
